The Sims 1 Legacy - my Sim won’t travel to downtown

A weird issue happening in Sims 1 Legacy. When calling a cab to go Downtown, my Sims won’t get in. The message appears to save my game however my sims won’t get into the cab. Anyone else facing similar issues?
