@sim31984 , I need some additional information from you before I begin to help you. Please answer the following questions:
1) Are you trying to install the game from Disk or Origin?
2) Have you installed the 4GB patch after installing the Base Game?
3) Have you used Graphics Rule Maker to edit your Graphics Rule.sgr file to have the game recognize your graphics card?
4) Is the game fully installing or is it having problems installing?
Please answer these few questions and feel free to provide me with more details about the installation. Sims 2 is a bit harder to install on modern computers, but it is possible.

You'll need to do a Google search to find the actual program, but what Graphics Rule maker does is it makes sure that the game recognizes your graphics card. Instructions on how to properly use Graphics Rule Maker are found on Leefish's forums. You will need to Google search for that forum too.
Try Graphics Rule Maker first and see if that will help your game. If it does not, then you may need to uninstall and reinstall again.
