The Sims 2 Ultimate Colection crashes on Windows 11

The Sims 2 Ultimate Collection is crashing on Windows 11 computer with 32GB memory. The is a 4GB patch out there that I tried to fix it with, but it still crashes when I try to enter into an occupied house or try to create a sim in CAS. I have seen posts when I google it, but apparently my limited tech ability when it comes to executables is not allowing me to do this successfully. I have reached out to tech support, Microsoft, and nVidia. So far to no avail. Any suggestions or is there anyone who has successfully been able to get their game to play that wouldn't mind giving me a hand? It works great on my Windows 10 machine, but not new Legion 5i laptop.
