The Sims 2 Ultimate Collection 2019

I have a Physical copy of the sims 2 (but no optical drive) and I wanted to get the sims 2 ultimate collection for free. I know the promotions have ended, but I have the actual game case, discs, and the product code. I've contacted EA support but just about everyone says they don't have any more codes and the game is discontinued. Is there still anyway to get the sims 2 ultimate collection for free in 2019?

  • Maybe try typing the Serial Key for The Sims 2 into the product code box and seeing if the game is added to your library afterward?

I don't know, I've never had that situation before since my computer has an optical drive, the only time that happened is when I couldn't install an expansion pack for The Sims 3 since the disc was broken in a way that it got stuck installing a location, so I tried typing in the key in the code box, it recognized it but it had already been redeemed. I managed to install it after a while.

  • Hello EA_Jason,

I am a customer who had owned many of the CD versions of the game (I still have them) and I was able to get a copy of the ultimate collection during the free giveaway. I just purchased a new laptop and redownloaded all of my games but the Sims 2 ultimate collection is broken, the worlds included in the base game don't exist anymore. I tired contacting support but the employee was rather rude and short with me. He refused to help me because EA no longer supports the game and told me that "It is a 16 year old game and it will not work." I have 25 year old games that I can play easily but for some reason EA is one company that will not help me. I would appreciate it if someone could help me play the game that I spent hundreds on and grew up with. I also have almost all of the sims 3 and 4 games that I also spent my own money on. If the company could be as equally loyal to me as a customer by helping me  I would appreciate it.

@ShanPam96 , could you be more specific as to what the game is doing and what you have done to install the game? There are a couple of tweaks that need to be done to get the game to run properly on newer computers. If you could please start a new thread so I can help you out. 🙂

There is still support of the game, but it is in the form of us players helping each other out.

@SirushoS , the Sims 2 Ultimate Collection giveaway ended October 2018 and EA has no plans to revive this nor to remaster the game to be sold on Origin. If you try to call EA Customer Support, they also do not have access to add the game to your account. EA is very aware of the Sims Community asking for this game to be remastered or added back to Origin as there are hundreds of threads here in this section and on the Official Sims Forum asking the exact same question.

Here is the link to the official EA announcement ending the giveaway. https://answers.ea.com/t5/Other-The-Sims-Games/Ending-code-support-for-The-Sims-2-Ultimate-Collection/m-p/7101525#M15431

@angelac214 , the Sims 2 Ultimate Collection is no longer available either for purchase or for free on Origin. EA ended the code giveaway in October 2018 as well as support/purchase for the game at that time. I'm afraid the only way to purchase Sims 2 is to buy the CD/DVD version of the game and its Expansions/Stuff packs. You can find copies on Amazon, E-Bay, game stores that sell used games and thrift stores. This will also require you to purchase an external disk drive as well.

In regards to Katy Perry's Sweet Treats Stuff pack for Sims 3, you should be able to purchase it via Origin (if it is still available). I'm not much help there as I already own it and if I try to search Origin, it simply brings me to my copy. I am not sure if it is still available, but you should be able to contact EA Customer Support to see if it is.

  • @ShanPam96 there are some known issues with the Sims 2, but you can fix them with Mods. I got it to run by adding some scripts to the files. The customer support can’t help you, but the internet can!

@MisterFelder , while EA Customer Support may not be able to help you or the players with questions, the folks here at AHQ can. We are mostly players like yourself, who try to help our fellow Simmers make sense of some of the instructions found on the internet or here on AHQ. There are steps you have to take to get Sims 2 to run on Windows OS and sometimes threads here have out dated information.

I always appreciate new information about how to get the game to run as I don't play natively on Windows. If you wish to start a new thread about this topic, I'd be happy to listen.
