The Sims 2 Ultimate Collection not working on Windows 8

I downloaded The Sims 2 Ultimate Collection onto my laptop today, but every time I start the game, it goes through the intro movie and then freezes. I then have to hold down the power button on my la...

I had this problem, but it solved now...

  1. I just right click The Sims 2 on origin library, then choose Check for Update.
  2. Wait for it until done.
  3. And then it works for me.
  4. I did play it until create family

I hope this can solved everybodies problem too.

I play on Windows 8 64bit, 1336x720 res

Then you can't get past create a family/sim.
