The Sims 2 won't recognize or uninstall from my computer... Please Help!

I can't seem to find a place to contact EA about my issues, and online seaches have come up with nothing, so I'm hoping someone here can help me.

I have The Sims 2 Double Deluxe, University, Best of Business, Bon Voyage, and Teen Style Stuff installed on my computer (Running Windows XP, Service Pack 3).  The programs have been on my computer for years (none of them are new), and they have worked perfectly well in the past.  Now, all of a sudden, none of the programs work at all.  In fact, they won't even show up as installed on the computer when you try to open the game, and thus the game does not open.  I've tried to uninstall the games so that I can then reinstall them, but this will not work either.  The "Unistall [title of Sims 2 game here]" link in the corresponding Start Menu folder does absolutely nothing.  No matter how many times you click on it, no matter which game you try, nothing happens and the folders remain where they are.  Similarly, when I try to forcibly remove them using the "Add/Remove Program" tool, nothing happens.  The programs stay on the list no matter what I press or how often I press it.

I'm at a bit of a standstill here.  I can't play the game, and I can't uninstall the game.  Curiously, I can put the discs in my computer and get the option to install as if it is not already on the computer.  However, the files and folders already exist and are currently taking up space, so this really isn't an option until I can free up some space on the computer.  There's no room to have each game on here twice.

If someone, anyone, could offer some help I would greatly appreciate it.  If you need more information, or if what I have given doesn't make any sense, I would more than happy to provide more and/or better info if I can.  Please help!

I have the same problem and I tried patching, but it didn't help. It said the Sims is up to date, but with my expansion packs it says that I don't have them installed. When I put the disk in to install, it says that it's installed.
