I have a "gaming" computer I built myself 3 years ago and it plays 3 better than it does 4. Load times for 3 are actually better then 4's load times for me. I'm sure people have issues loading 3, but its not unplayable. And the computer I built isn't even considered the top of the line and I have everything for 3 installed (just not katy perrys sweet treats) runs as good as 4 for me. No mods and 3 GB of CC. Meanwhile in sims 4 I have 500MB of mods and CC.
If sims 3 is unplayable in a Rig similar to mine (i5, 16GB RAM, 1060 Nvidia) I'm more inclined to believe they have bad mods or bad CC than the game being barely playable.
Well that simply isn't true. I'm on my tablet, and therefore can't closely look at my specs upstairs but broadly speaking, i have i7, 24GB RAM and Nvidia >1060 and no cc or mods and i have crashes frequently with TS3. I don't really play it anymore for those reasons. TS4 has been more stable for me.
I enjoy the mixture of active and rabbit-holes. I enjoy how just a neighborhood is open rather the the entire world as i do believe that contributed to lag and the instability of TS3. IP in TS3 was probably the most troublesome. Any cave exploring reset you to the shore. The world is so massive it takes a lot of in-game time to get around.
TS4 needs to pick up in the gameplay. There needs to be the ability to have free time, simple activities they can do with a group up to like 4. Frisbee, soccer, children playing tag, catch. In the pool they can play Marco polo. Also, not just the ability to style outfits but to create clothing and have fashion shows to show then off.
Everything we have in game hobbyy-wise should have the ability to compete. For example, cooking competitions, fitness competitions, paintings, writing, fishing. Gives more reason to learn such bait catches the best fish and a reason to increase the skill.
