The Sims Medieval Not Working

Hello all,

I’ve come on here to express my complete frustration with the company EA and the way they handle older games. I have been sitting at my computer for the past five hours trying to get the Sims Medieval to play. Any time I launch it, the error code 0xc000007b appears. I have tried EVERYTHING. I tried alder patch, I have tried downloading the other DirectX files, I have tried using Process Lasso, running the game as an administrator, the TSM.ps1 code, repairing the game, deleting cache, etc. This game will not work. I tried to reach out to the EA help, but after trying to do everything they recommended and the game still not working, they told me to take my computer to a local technician to try to get it to work. I’m sorry, but after spending money for a game, I feel that it is absurd to ask the customer to go spend even more money to see if maybe, possibly, someone else could fix it. At this point, I am out of options and feel completely defeated. I tried to see if I could get a refund, but while trying to upload files to somehow prove to them that the game does not work, they said I took too long to respond and closed me out of the chat. I have been playing the sims franchise for 10+ years at this point, and really love the Sims 3 and 2. But this makes me want to stop playing for good. For too long now, EA has taken advantage of players and refuses to fix older games like Sims Medieval. I wish there was a way to talk to someone higher up, but all they leave us with is the EA chat, which has not been helpful. My partner plays games like Call of Duty, and even their games from the 2000s still work. If older games from other companies still work, then there is no reason why an EA game from 2001 does not. Does anyone know any way to get this game to work? If not, I will continue trying to get a refund, even though I’m sure that will end up pointless as well. Thank you.
