The Sims Medieval
I bought The Sims Medieval from Walmart along with The Sims 3 a while ago. I played Sims 3 at first then after I got bored with that I decided to play the Medieval one. I installed it and I started it up but like everyone else with Windows 8, it would say it was running but I couldn't see it. I thought maybe it was because I did a custom installation so I uninstalled and tried regular installation and it was no different. Giving the game the benefit of the doubt, I tried reinstalling it once more and the same thing occured.
It was time to bust out the google search. I noticed some forums and threads saying they were having trouble because it was Windows 8 and the patch it wanted you to download. Surely with EA/Origin being a well known company, I figured they would have some sort of soloution on how to fix this. I found this link: http://help.ea.com/en/article/the-sims-medieval-and-windows-8-compatibility/ and followed all of the instructions. I clicked the "the follow these steps" link and followed the steps pertaining to the 1.2 section. I had no previously registered my game on the Sims website so I figured it would work. I hoped it would anyway. Once you type in that long code, Origin gives me an error message and tells me I have to register my code on the Sims site. Fine. Whatever, I just want to play the game. So I click the link, log in, and after I click submit its like "Congratulations! You registered your Sims 3!" Wtf? No, I used my Sims Medieval code.
Here's my problem: I can't play The Sims Medieval and now I can't even download it from Origin because it locked in my code as the Sims 3 for some reason. Anyone have any halp for my situation?
