The sims mideval dosent work

I have installed the disc version of the sims medieval on my PC (windows 11). The download itself goes well and starting the game also works, but after the intro movie when the start menu comes up I get an error message that the installation was not done correctly and when you press the message the game closes down.

How do I solve this most smoothly?
