They should make a new Sims medieval game.

It was a game full of great ideas, but did not quite deliver all what people expected of it and was sadly abandoned after one expansion which did not even add any of the most requested things.

What I'd suggest would be a more free experience, with quests being something any Sim who meets the prerequistes can take off a quest board and houses being build freely, with basements and everything.

Each region could be about the size of the Sims Medieval neighbourhood, with it's own castle and ruler. Rulers could be overthrown in various ways, and the ruler would be able to do a lot of things no other Sim can since they control the guards and can make some policies.
Diplomacy could also happen between different rulers, and each region could be independent or end up being ruled by another region in one way or another.
Could be through a marriage alliance, diplomacy by promising things in return, but also through some vile means like an assassination, charm magic spell or war. War would not happen on screen, if war is declared borders would be closed between warring parties and there could be some wartime quests available now. Which can end the war in either party's favour, up to the player.

The initial game could launch with 3 regions, maybe including one Elf region and two more traditional medieval looking worlds.
Horses could be included in the base game since they would be the main transportation. Jousting matches could be a thing, but also going for a ride in the woods or such. Horses could be required for various quests and there could be stables.

Each expansion could add a new region with it's own style of furniture, architecture and possibly a new species or supernatural condition, as well as new skills.
For example a dwarf expansion could add an underground dwarf Kingdom as well as dwarves as a new playable species. So lots of stone furniture, tavern and smithing stuff, maybe beer brewing skills and mines to explore and provide new quests. Would put a new region on the overall map to interact with the three existing ones. And each region could like that add to the world map and expand the experience.

Could also be a Vampire themed expansion with an Eastern European gothic look, with a Dracula sort of Castle and vibe. Vampire could be a supernatural condition so elves and dwarves could be a vampire too. They could have their own blood magic and could not be a mage too, mage could be a supernatural condition already in the base game. Elves and dwarves could also be mages.
But the game could optionally still have some supernatural conditions limited to specific species.

For quests, sims could form adventuring parties to pool their combined skills, but a sim who masters a lot of skills could also go at it alone or maybe bring someone along just for some puzzles that require a second person.
There could be Dungeons similar to world adventures and jungle adventure, but with a bit more dangers and stuff to do. Like maybe having to hit a target with a bow, possibly a moving target. There could be few enemies to fight and fighting would be sparse, most enemies could just be skeletons who could just be beaten by any sim who brings a sword, spell or bow in a single attack.
The skeletons wouldn't be lethal but could beat up sims and cause them to retreat wounded.
Would be various traps and obstacles with different solutions to get past them, sometimes more than one. Like for example a hallway with swinging blades could be passed with a high athletic skill OR by a high lockpicking skill that lets you disable the trap.
Could also be a stone golem enemy that could stay inactive and only comes alive if you pull a wrong lever or something, would be stronger but also not lethal.
Only sort of boss creatures could be lethal or put a bad condition on a sim. like a mummy in world adventures. Sims could end up cursed, like maybe they try to kill a vampire in it's crypt, but get bitten.
Bosses could also lead to conversation where your Sim has a few choices, their skills could help here. Like with high charisma they could maybe just tell the dragon to go live elsewhere, or maybe they juggle for the dragon or otherwise amuse it, and it lets your sim leave with a bit of treasure.
Fighting the dragon could end with your sim being put on fire and burning to death though, killing the dragon would be like the most difficult challenge but could grant a sim the dragon slayer trait and bragging rights.

Would be regular jobs too for Sims to have. Blacksmith, merchant, alchemist, herbalist, bard, tavern keeper, running the stables, librarian, etc.
But you could make it a whole family business as you like. You'd control the whole household.
Could even mix it up, like maybe the alchemist and herbalist marry and their store has an area for both.
Like with freelance jobs in other sims games, they could take or refuse requests to make money. Similar to a painter they could maybe also make things and just sell it for money without a buyer.

Being common or nobility could also be a thing, depends on the rulers policies of course. Maybe they do allow commoners at their feasts, maybe not.
Commoners could also be elevated to nobility by another noble or by marrying a noble.

Could be plenty of skills to explore. Sword fighting, archery, blacksmithing, alchemy, herbalism, cooking, athletic, creativity, logic, pottery, candle making, weaving, carpentry, sculpting, etc.

I would love a new Sims Medieval, especially if, like you've suggested, they brought more fantasy aspects to it, even if they were in expansion packs. Dragons and other mythical beasts, Fairies, Elves, Dwarves and Goblins, Pirates, Merfolk , Sirens, Islands and high seas, superstitions and hearth lore (Vampires, Werewolves, magic and Ghosts), and it would be really fun to introduce other lands and cultures with their mythology and superstitions based off that time period (but in a fictional, "Sim" way.)

I would probably play this game more than Sims 4. ?
