Voted for Victorian/Western but like all the options to be honest. Each of them has great potential for unique gameplay and would be a refreshing change from what we now have.
Thanks, I tried to think of a good range of themes that would be different enough to not feel like we'd just go through the same motions again of adding pets, seasons, university, etc. I mean those things can often still be there, but it would come with different gameplay.
I think it could generate more interest in the base game straight away because it does something new and would not be in direct competition with the previous main sims games so there would not be so much focus on what isn't there.
Also, with sims 4 it really feels like they are scratching the bottom of the barrel with some expansions, like how poorly received eco lifestyle was yet somehow was not a game pack but a full expansion.
Like with Victorian/Western there could be some wealthy country homes as well as a western town right from the start and a native american town. Three neighbourhoods.
And an expansion that adds a New-York style city would offer very different new things than the usual city expansions.
An expansion that adds cats and dogs would no doubt involve a lot of different dog breeds as well as dog shows, cats and dogs could also be used in vaudeville performances and of course could also be used to catch mice, scare off burglars or help round up life stock.
Additional animals could be added as well in an expansion, horses could just be in the base game with cows, chickens and sheep added in an expansion.
Could even have a whole steampunk expansion that adds all kinds of interesting objects to use and maybe an invention skill.
Various game packs or stuff packs could also focus on different native American tribes, adding appropriate clothing and objects, maybe even a new skill. Different dwellings too.
Can also have an expansion focused on mines and prospecting, dynamite could be used there to clear pathways.
Most supernatural creatures would work here too, just not aliens. Some sort of Jeckyl/Hyde condition would also be fitting as a new state with two forms similar to a werewolf that changes under different conditions.
Can even have a Frankenstein focused expansion too, where you can build a castle like that and have sims make their own frankensim monster instead of making a servo. There would be room for some gothic horror.
It could easily have ten big expansions.
Steampunk, now there's an idea! I grab all the steampunk CC I can find as it's so fascinating. TS3 had inventing in it so that should be easy to do. Another element, which would go with just about all your suggestions, is the ability to go on quests. TS3 World Adventures was great in that and even provided tools to make our own stuff. Jungle Adventures is good, too, but without the tools. That world has so many possibilities for more places to visit and things to do. I'm a 'Neverwinter Nights' veteran (even made own worlds and modules), so am both spoiled and know what's possible.
