What year did you start playing your first The Sims game?

I started playing The Sims in 2000 when my parents bought a new computer that was on a special offer with a software bundle. I'd seen The Sims on the shelf in the shop whilst they were talking to the assistant and thought it looked like my kind of game so I was so pleased when I heard that I'd be getting the game.
