I love the Sims 3 but I actually prefer the world setup in the Sims 4. I like to think of the worlds in TS4 as neighborhoods. I have certain community lots in each world/neighborhood and relatives and friends spread out in different worlds/neighborhoods. The location/proximity determines when I'm able to travel to a particular world. One of my fancy restaurants is located in San Myshuno and necessitates a weekend date night to the city. As does my spa which is reserved for Saturday visits or meet ups with the girlfriends. My one library is located in another neighborhood but close enough so that the kids can go to the library after school to study and do their homework or visit friends. Traveling to Sulani is a day long adventure of beach activities and meals at a seafood restaurant. I even have a working hotel so that a 2 day overnight visit is possible.
I'm with you on this. Sims 3 is a lot of fun and I still play it often enough, but I do miss the world set up of TS4 while I'm there.
And before I get jumped all over about mods. I don't use mods, I won't use mods. Maxis/EA should make those things. It's great what the modding community does and I'm glad people enjoy them but I can choose to not use them.
