@Karababy52 Hi! First , the story post looks great and so fun to read ! I didn't read it because I want to wait for the contest , but looking at the layout and screenshots made me want to read it !
It looks like your theme is set up by default to show the latest posts in a grid view on the homepage . If you had multiple posts they'd all show . If you wrote an excerpt for the post, then the excerpt would show . If you set a featured image , then it and the excerpt would show . It's a nice feature if you want to display recent posts . I use this feature on my garden blog. I can't link since I'm on the nook , but if you go to my main blog you'll find the link in the right widget section . To write the excerpt and set the featured image , go to the post settings for the post , available in the edit mode .
If you don't want your homepage to display the grid of posts , you can probably turn this off. Go to Customize , and under homepage , select static homepage . Not all themes offer this option , but most do!
Then you'd select a page to be your homepage . (You might need to create it first .) I'll check back thus evening if you have more questions or if my suggestions don't help!
Cheers !
