Your biggest LGBTQ+ fans are getting married!
Dear EA games/Maxis/Sims Creators,
We are having our wedding ceremony this spring and we just wanted to thank EA games/the Sims for bringing so much meaning into our lives. We met online in 2018 and dated for a few years in a long distance relationship with one of us in Scotland and the other in America. Through thick and thin, in a world that is not always nice to people like us, EA games has remained our constant happy place. No matter our hardships, we can always look forward to the next time we game. Our lowest moment was during COVID, when we could not see each other for more than a year because both countries had different visit restrictions. One of us could not leave her house in Scotland as everyone was under lockdown. The other had to work constantly daily on her feet with a N95 mask on for 15+ hours a day as an essential healthcare worker. This was when the Sims really became not only a virtual place but the only place we could build a life together, the glimmer of hope we needed. We were immersed in a fantasy world that would one day cross over into our real lives. Every day we would play and create homes together, live life together, build potential futures. It was so much more than a game for us and we will never forget. Thank you for creating a platform so we could stay connected even when the world was keeping us apart and thank you for making life bearable when it was not; for playing such a big part in our lives (pun intended)!
Appreciate everything that you are,
Aimee and Jo
