After software update the graphical effects don’t work

I finally updated my iPad (8th generation) after a long long time yesterday and now the graphical effects don’t work. It basically says the GPU (Apple A12) is not supported anymore and I’m wondering why. I haven’t done a software update for years and everything seemed to work. Now the whole graphic looks basic and ugly just like 3 years ago. It developed so well and now after this software update it got degraded again and this is actually nonsense to me. The lighting effect doesn’t work anymore and I don’t even have the motivation to keep playing because it doesn’t look the way I got used to. Anyone with the same problem maybe? It would be amazing if they could fix it. I’m playing for multiple years now and I definitely wasn’t expecting a downgrade like this. Please investigate whether this is a bug or an unintended compatibility change.
