You can age them pretty much on your own pace. Sometimes you may need a baby for weekly tasks, but you can skip them for 1 LP.
After unlocking toddlers, your Sim can bake a birthday cake and age up your baby to a toddler.
The schools don’t matter until you have preteens and teens.  They are only needed, if you want to send them to school. In SFP they don’t have to go.

If you want to do the discovery quest  “Nanny knows best” you need a baby, because those tasks cannot be skipped.

At level 14 you unlock the progression quest “In da Clubhouse”. This quest requires a toddler. Some discovery quests also require a toddler. So, it’s a good idea to either have a toddler already or birthday cake ready to be used.

Discovery quests can be started whenever a player wants, until completing one is required for leveling up. Even then it’s your decision, which one you do.

    Hope, this helps 🙂

  • thanks for the help , i figured out i  havent gotten far enuff for it and havent done the quest yet. lol i was getting ahead of myself.
