For a bit of context, my friend has some awesome items from last year's Winter or Christmas event. I wasnt playing back then so I didn't get them. Is there any way to receive those items now or in the future? Will the events be repeated or the items redistributed?

it might take a few years but most will come back.
special colabs may not, depending on how the original contract for the collaboration was worded
(no winter quest was a colab involving trade marks belonging to a collaborator)
it is common for the winter quests to rerun during the summer
variants (new colours) of the objects may show up in the online special store, purple shopping cart
real money, often higher star rating
