I also forgot to mention that I actually purchased simoleons right after I deleted it because I didn't know I would be having this problem and I wanted a bigger basement. so it all saved at a point where I now believe this may not be fixable and I'm really pissed lol

Since support sent you to this board, which is a player to player help board, you are probably correct that it is not fixable. I am going to make one more suggestion and that is to check the "Girl Who Games" blog and see if anyone else has had a similar issue.
