Help! My babies are stuck underground!

I don't know how they got there, but my babies are stuck underground!  There is no floor.  Whenever I try to move them I get a message that there is an object in the way.  Adults can't go down there to rescue them.  Is this a glitch?  Someone please help me save my babies!!
