Hug a cat

I have a problem with one of first tasks in neighbours cities, i have only one friend who has a cat and when im coming to his house and hugging his cat it doesnt work, yes a sim is hugging a cat but it doesnt complete my task, do anybody else has or had same problem? and what to do with it?
