If i reset my game, can i still use the cloud to get my data back

This might sound dumb, but im currently trying to finish the life dreams and legacies quest and when selecting which senior to give the orb to, i accidentally picked a sim that is quite important to me because i didn't realize that i would have to complete that sim's life cycle. I would just make a copy/replacement of the sim, but this sim had children and a husband and im pretty sure the replacement sim would no longer have the mom title under their name. I went to my cloud and saw that the last time it auto saved, seemed like it was before i picked that sim for the quest, but it also said that downloading the save data was unavailable. After seeing that, i purposefully got 2 new houses, added a random sim, and completed the life cycle, in attempt to get the current game to no longer match the saved data, but it still says it matches. Im probably making this much more complicated than it needs to be, but i was wondering if i could reset the game and then download my saved data, or if that would delete my saved data and i should just uninstall and reinstall the app? If anybody actually answers this, thank you.
