It is an Upcoming event, read the headline in the tab, if it was current, it would be in the tab labled Event tasks
It is due to start Sep 11th, 2025 at 7AM UTC, which is 22 hours and some minutes away, it is a countdown not a running timer. Once the event starts, it will move to the "Event Tasks" tab

The opening post shows: “…I clicked on upcoming events…”
That’s why my screenshot shows that tab with the remaining wait time (which is now a bit more than 16 hours.)
For players who already completed this event, it will just disappear.
Only for players who didn’t complete it yet, the event will move to their active Events Tasks tab right when it starts.
Both is normal for reruns.

It seems like they thought the countdown to event start was a timer for the event itself (not being able to go to the island, suggest they thought the event was live).
And yes, if you have done it, it will go away, if not it will move to the other tab
