Re: Sims freeplay suggestions
Hello The Sims FreePlay team!
I’ve been playing The Sims FreePlay for many years, and I really love the freedom the game gives us to build homes, create Sims, and tell our own stories.
As a long-time player, I wanted to share some ideas that I think could make the game feel more modern, flexible, and alive. I’ve grouped them into three categories.
UX & EXISTING SYSTEMS
1. Better Home Store & Inventory Organization
Group furniture and decoration sets together instead of showing every piece and color variation separately. Players could open a set, choose the specific piece and color, and see something like “4/6 items owned.” This would make building and managing Inventory much easier.
2. Easier Create a Sim & Wardrobe
The appearance and clothing menus can feel overwhelming. A cleaner interface with better categories, search/filter options, and colors and variations moved into a secondary menu would make customization much easier.
3. More Advanced Sim Customization
Give players more control over body shape, proportions, and individual facial features such as eyes, nose, lips, jaw, cheeks, and face shape.
4. Multiple Outfits + Randomize Outfit
Let each Sim have multiple outfits for Everyday, Work, Formal, Sleep, Sports, etc. A Randomize Outfit option could choose between the outfits selected by the player.
5. Seasonal Outfits
Let players assign outfits to different seasons. When winter arrives, Sims could automatically wear one of their chosen winter outfits.
GAMEPLAY FEATURES
6. A More Flexible Family & Relationship System
When creating or adding a Sim, let players choose their relationship to an existing Sim: parent, child, sibling, spouse, partner, roommate, friend, etc. Relationships should also be independent from surnames, so marriage or living together doesn’t automatically mean sharing a last name.
7. Family Tree & Family Management Panel
Add a visual Family Tree and a simple panel where players can see their families, generations, and relationships together.
8. More Freedom With Lots & Apartments
Let players choose the purpose of a lot, such as a home, café, restaurant, shop, salon, or workplace.
Also improve apartments by allowing multiple independent units and multiple families to live in the same building, with shared spaces.
9. Deeper Careers
Add more careers with unique tasks and meaningful progression. Instead of mainly waiting for a timer, players could complete career-specific tasks to earn promotions.
10. Personality, Interests & Likes/Dislikes
Let players choose personalities, interests, likes, and dislikes for each Sim, and make these choices actually affect their behavior, activities, friendships, dating, and compatibility.
11. Seasons & Dynamic Weather
Add seasons and changing weather such as rain and snow, with the environment and Sims’ clothing changing accordingly.
12. More Interactive Neighborhoods
Make neighbors feel more alive by allowing them to visit each other, become friends, attend parties, develop relationships, and have conflicts.
13. Player Gallery
Allow players to save, share, search for, and place houses created by other players.
NEW CONTENT & WORLD EXPANSION
14. New Cities & Worlds
Add new cities with unique environments, buildings, activities, and gameplay rather than only visual differences.
15. Interactive Amusement Park
Add a real amusement park where Sims can enter, ride attractions, play mini-games, eat, go on dates, and spend time with family.
16. Fully Interactive Hospital
Make the hospital a real playable location where Sims can receive treatment, stay overnight, and give birth to their babies.
17. Better Use of Large Lots
Some of the largest lots in the desert and rural-style worlds feel underused. Give these spaces a special purpose, such as luxury mansions, large builds, ocean-view homes, or vacation-style houses.
18. Famous Houses & Locations
Create official collaborations featuring iconic locations from movies, TV shows, and animation. For example, players could build an accurate version of the Friends apartment, including matching furniture and decorations.
19. More Life Stages
Add additional age groups to make the transition between childhood, teenage years, and adulthood feel more natural.
20. Functional Vehicles
Let Sims actually own and use cars for driving, traveling, family trips, and other activities.
21. Player-Owned Businesses
Let players build and manage their own cafés, bakeries, restaurants, shops, and other businesses.
22. Interactive Schools & Universities
Make schools and universities playable locations with classes, exams, activities, friendships, and skill development.
23. Deeper Pet Gameplay
Give pets more personality, training, activities, aging, and meaningful relationships with their owners.
24. More Interactive Story Events
Create story-driven events with meaningful choices and multiple stages instead of relying mainly on repetitive tasks.
25. Create Your Own Personal Sim
Allow players to create a Sim based on themselves and make that Sim part of their world, with their own appearance, personality, interests, career, home, and relationships.
FINAL THOUGHTS
I also want to share some honest feedback as a longtime player.
I feel that some of the more recent updates have been less exciting than older updates, and sometimes the new items don’t feel as useful or interesting as I would hope. I’m not saying this to criticize the developers. I’m sharing it because I genuinely want the game to keep improving, especially for players who have been playing for many years.
I hope future updates can focus not only on adding more decorative items, but also on giving us more freedom, deeper gameplay, meaningful choices, and a more interactive world.
Thank you for continuing to develop The Sims FreePlay and for listening to the community! ❤️
I’d also love to hear from other players: Which of these features would you most like to see in a future update?
