No longer given the option to make purchases

There is a glitch or bug that has removed the ability to buy extra lifepoints, simoleons, or the helper sim ( I forget her name) during crafting events. So I cannot level up in VIP.  I contacted EA support and they didn't give me a solution other than posting here. Basically if other people are having the same issue, they might do something.

  • So was finally able to solve the issue with no thanks to EA since I discovered the problem without them. For some reason there were two copies of the game in my Amazon library. One version worked as normal and the other glitch version that I was playing in, did not. It is important to note that the glitch version did everything the normal version did including updates except for purchasing, this is why people need to check for two. I deleted the glitch version and the other still works as normal. I have no idea why there were two copies of the game in my library but I wanted to post this here in case someone else runs into the issue. It could have been solved a long time ago if EA had been interested in helping. I realize this is a user forum but since EA does not want to help players, others might need this for their reference.

  • Check so you are allowed to make in app purchases

There is a parental tool that disable in app purchases

If you have stated your age as a minor, you might not have the option to make in app purchases

Check your card/account so it is up to date and valid

    Contact your store

    App Store (Apple users)

    Google Play (Android users)

    Amazon (Kindle Fire)

This forum is provided by EA but is designed as Player helping Player, in this case we can not do much for you
Contact support: Get there in game: green ... button at the bottom of the screen; info > online support
    Or use the web https://help.ea.com/en/help-top-issues/?product=the-sims-freeplay
Or contact support via FB or Twitter, links are at the bottom of the page

  • I haven't given my age as a minor since I've been an adult for longer an I was a minor at this point. I used to have access to the in app purchase. And as I stated I already contacted EA, they refused to help. Basically said " maybe we will do something if others have the same problem " I guess the real solution is to just stop playing.

We are players just like you

We can do what you can do

    Not much in this case

settings can reset themselves when updating devices etc - so check

In another game I have to state age every day, it is easy to not scroll all the way back to the bronze age and (by accident) say you're born in 2015

    Delete and reinstall game

Go back to support and DEMAND that they help you as AHQ can not help besides giving advice

Also check with your store (App, Google Play or Amazon) and make sure your payment method is up to date and valid and that your settings are correct

I will flag this as a support issue

Since Firemonkeys left it to EA to handle support no one seems to want to help, except AHQ, and we can not do much about bugs, glitches and malfunctioning games
