Have you tried making ‘best friends’ with the parent and child, then move the parent back in with the child?   You can relocate a family into an empty home as a group.  You would then need to move the new spouse into the home with the parent and child.  Then relocate all of them as a group into the desired home.  It’s $5000 Simoleons to relocate a single Sim, and $8000 to relocate the entire family.

Follow these steps:

1.  Make parent best friends with child

2.  Ask parent to move back in with child.

3.  Make best friends with new spouse.

4.  Ask new spouse to move in with parent and child.

5.  Relocate entire new family into desired home for $8000 Simoleons.

Good luck, and I hope this solves your issue!  The baby may still appear as the homeowner though.  That can be resolved with more shuffling with the steps above but I don’t think it’s worth it - especially when you reach Life Dreams and Legacies and there is a lot of movement with houses and occupants.

Im newish to SFP but not to AHQ

    I really appreciate your help

What do you think of the partner adopting the baby?

Will that move the baby into the right house hold and how would you do it?

Would you have to age the baby to a toddler?

Is that an option for this problem?

  • I am happy to help.  I have been playing for about a year, and just recently completed (level 55).  I am nowhere near finished the game though.

When you ‘adopt a toddler’ by phone, it brings you to the create a Sim menu to create a new Sim.  I don’t know of an option for a partner to adopt a child in FreePlay.  You would have to create another version of the same baby if you adopt a toddler via phone.  You would have to age the original baby to an adult and wait for his/her life cycle to complete (die), unless you are okay with more than one version of the same child.  I was around level 50 before I even started the Life Dreams and Legacies quest for my Sims to age.  You also need space to add a new Sim to adopt a child.  I don’t think it’s as viable as the other way.

Let me know if you have any other ideas on how to do this, and I can share what I know.  I have six children in the game and had to get very creative to set it up the way I like.  Happy Simming!

  • I looked into this further for you and see the option for the toddler to ask an unrelated adult to adopt them!  I wasn’t aware of that feature.  From what I can see, I figure these steps should do it.

    1.  Age baby to toddler - have your adult Sim bake a birthday cake (costs LPs).

    2. Select the adult who owns the home you want the family living in, and have the toddler ask that adult to adopt them!

I like having this option but it takes longer because birthday cakes take a day to bake, plus cost LPs.  So the first option allows you to keep the baby, and costs Simoleons and no waiting, and the second option ages the child, and costs time and LPs.

Good luck!  Would love to know if you achieve your goal by the second method!  Thanks for the insight!
