This is probably not a glitch but a change. Fire Monkey is always changing the time on hobbies and other tasks. The skating hobby is a good example of this. They did away with all the times except thr 12 hour one.

Your sim sim should still have enough time, even at ten minutes. to do this task and complete the orb before she goes.

Unfortunately I suspect that as well. I just find it annoying when they do this sort of thing. It will now take forever to get a Sims orb finished if you pick that choice. And really what purpose does it serve them to make it that way.

Well it's not the first change they've made that makes no sense. Case in point, the removal of fridge options (to encourage you to make your sims eat plated meals, which somehow take 10 minutes and still don't totally fill your hunger).
