As another suggestion:  What is your internet connection like on your phone?

If you phone is not syncing with the servers correctly it can make your progress go backwards.  Does your phone have a 'sleep' on the wireless/internet for powersaving?  Some phones will turn off the internet if inactive for 'x' time.  This could cause issues with The Sims.

Just remember, Sims doesn't continuously stream data, it just sends occasional packets to the internet.  So it runs for a minute or so and then updates the servers, so on and so forth.
