Senior quest snowball fight won’t progress

i’m stuck on it too! i’ve tried three times now. first i had two sims have a regular snowball fight at the area in front of the cabin, and when i went to complete the activity nothing happened. the second time i tried again, i noticed the “snowball fight with senior” option, which wasn’t there before. so i tried that and figured the future sim senior would show up but he never did. so when i went to complete the activity, the sim i was using gave me the little footprint cloud. so then i zoomed out my screen and i saw the exclamation point cloud at the other snowball area. i figured maybe that was why it hadn’t been working, but usually in activities if there’s multiple areas it doesn’t matter which one you select. so i moved to the ! area and tried again, of course it didn’t work. i knew it couldn’t just be me so i googled this issue to see if it was a glitch! the first time a played the game a few years ago there was no problem with this so i’m not sure why there is a glitch now. i still have two days to finish and i’m not worried about the exercise bike but it’s still frustrating!
