Did another general search of 'The Sims Freeplay for PC' and got the following (among many others)

It appears that there is no PC version as such but rather intermediate software that enables a PC to run the original version, as several of you have posted.
The big question of whether the game is good enough to override the annoyance of the timer remains. Probably an individual choice.
