Simtracker Organisation and some Other Ideas
Hey, I’ve been playing the Sims for some years now, and some things came up to my mind during that. At first I want to mention that I’m not a native so please excuse some mistakes. I’m now at level 31 and got a good bunch of sims. Most of my families didn’t come up at once so in the simtracker, which is organized so it lists the newest sims at the bottom, makes the sims living in one house being all over the place in the simtracker which I think is very annoying. I would really appreciate it if you could organize your sims the way you want, either by drag and drop or by some kind of drop down menu where you could chose some options.
Secondly, and that kind of goes along with the family problem before. I got one house with four friends living together. Given the fact that people take the same last name the moment they move together even though they are not married or anything but just friends. This leads to 4 of my sims having the last name Richards, which does not really make sense to me. If you make the option to let sims move together if they are good friends, then why don’t you leave them their names. Nobody would take the lay name of a friend if they live in the same house. You could just make it so that people take the same last name the moment they propose marriage or even when they marry, which would make the act of marriage a little more important.
Another thing that has already been mentioned but that I want to emphasize even more is the fact that buildings grow exponentially more expensive over time. Given that there is a new building almost every update, which are sometimes even needed for quest, I can’t always afford the hundred thousands of simoleons needed to build it. You could get up to that by making it that you can destroy the buildings you do not want or need anymore, just like houses, and making the curve at which the prices rise a little less steep. I really like the game (otherwise I would not play it for so long) but these things really annoyed me the most (not to mention the extreme pricing for things like the restaurant or for the new maternity quest, which I don’t like but seem to have to accept since people want to earn money. But I think there are better ways of getting there than squeezing every single simoleon and lifestyle point out of your users for daily appointments to force them to buy packs in the store to finish the quest. Not to talk about the time that is needed additionally).
I want to play the sims for another couple of years but I will not if some things go on the way they do now.
I hope that you can take some of these ideas and implement them into the next update.
