Super Toddler Secret Quest won't let me complete task

I'm trying to complete the give toddler cookies task and I bought the cupboard but every time I have a sim click it I get the red stop circle. I tried selling it and rebuying it. I tried moving it to an open space nothing works. Any ideas how to fix this?

    It won't let me every time I use an adult to click the cupboard I get a red circle

    You're probably using the wrong cupboard. Open the task, it tells you exactly which one to use. When you place it you will get a text bubble over it. That lets you know you've got the right one. If I remember it looks like a counter with a shelf over it not a cupboard.
