[The Sims FreePlay] Sims freeplay wont update

I've downloaded this app several times. It downloads correctly, but I can't get it to update. It says it's downloading the updates, but it doesn't do anything. It says the KB per second at the bottom and it changes rapidly, but it does nothing else. Can you please help me? I'd love to play this game, it just won't update.. I have a fast, strong internet connection, so it shouldn't be this difficult to update. I've left my phone out for hours in attempt to update it, but with no success. Is there any way to fix this? I can't play the game without updating it.
