Moola prices

Hi,

For example in the case if a kit cost 500 Moola

  • Overpriced level
    • $2.49 USD for 200 Moola : Paid 3 times = $7.47 spent to get a $4.99 kit + 100 Moola left (50% more expensive)
  • Standard level
    • $4.99 USD for 500 Moola : $4.99 kit
    • $9.99 USD for 1,000 Moola : $9.99 Stuff Pack (but $0.01 wasted if you take 2 kits)
  • Discount level
    • $24.99 USD for 2,600 Moola : 5 kits + 100 Moola left. Paid 5 times = 25 kits + 1 kit (for free) (4% off, $5 discount for $125 spent)
    • $49.99 USD for 5,500 Moola : 11 kits for the price of 10 (9% off, $5 discount for $50 spent)

TS3 Store had (for example Hidden Springs world is at 2000 SimPoints)  :

  • $7 for 1000 SimPoints : literally $10 of content (30% off, $3 discount)
  • $14 for 2040 SimPoints : $20 (30% off, $6 discount)
  • $28 for 5000 SimPoints : $50 (44% off, $22 discount)
  • $56 for 10600 SimPoints : $106 (47% off, $50 discount)
  • $112 for 24360 SimPoints : $244 (54% off, $132 discount)

Right now Moola feels more expensive than SimPoints in particular if the content cost 1000 Moola.

In the sims 3 store you have to buy everything with simpoints. You can buy bundles of sim points for real money. And then exchange those money for sims3 items. It is practically the sims3 version of the moola  for the sims 4 marketplace.

Currency used for The Sims 2 Store (Beta) and The Sims 3 Store.

  • I can only hope this system won't be used to increase the price of kits. Is there someway I can take a screenshot of my own kits to prove what I already bought before they are migrated? It's not good that kits won't be available for regular purchase anymore. Moola blurs the cost by adding in it's own value, I rather see how much something costs in real money. Perhaps this is what I need to no longer buy kits.

The screenshot shows prices in $. I will have to wait to see how much they cost in €. But when you look at the $ pricing then buying them per 200 moola means you get less per $.

    • 200 moola for 2.49$ = 80.32 moola per 1 $
    • 500 moola for 4.99$ = 100.20 moola per 1$
    • 1000 moola for 9.99$ = 100.10 moola per 1$
    • 2600 moola for 24.99$ = 104.04 moola per 1$
    • 5500 moola for 49.99$ = 110.02 moola per 1$

  • I'm also concerned about the price for content. The specific amounts here are like how gacha games make an item juuuust a little too expensive, forcing you to pay for a bigger amount. So you want a set that costs 400 Moola. But there's no option to buy 400 Moola. You can either pay for one 500 Moola amount, or buy two 200 Moola amounts (which will likely cost you more, given taxes.) If you buy the 500 Moola, you either wasted money on 100 Moola you'll never use, or will have to buy more Moola to afford something else so it doesn't go to waste.

BUT THEN you factor how many items seem to be in these offers. Looking at Rustic Nest, you're paying the price of a kit for about half the items that you'd normally get in a proper kit. The Japandi Home Bedroom set costs the same as a Stuff Pack and provides no gameplay, and I don't know if it'll have enough items to justify the price.

So there's a very likely chance that we're paying for more, but getting less. I'll wait and see how this goes, and hopefully my fears will be unfounded. But I don't have a lot of faith. Kits were already half the price of Stuff Packs, but with only a third of the stuff.

Below the policy of TS3 Store it could be the same thing :

Once you have redeemed SimPoints for The Sims 3 Content, that content is not returnable, exchangeable, or refundable for SimPoints or for cash, or other goods or services.

If you put that way - probably yes - more expensive than buying a Kit (and all the build/buy Kits which I bought to satisfy my builds. Also - these Kits contained a minimum of 25 items. So for a Kit is $7.99/25items = 0.32 cents an item. Out of the 25 items in the kit, I probably use 10 only and wasted storage space on the other 15 items (including other add-on items I do not use).

Actually I have 94 Add-Ons .... so with this Marketplace packs from creators - I hope that the 500 Moola per kit has more than 25 items? which could be more beneficial than buying a kit.

However - what if you didn't like it or isn't really functional or decided not to have it in your game - would you get a refund?

  • The lowest purchase should buy you at least a kit...

Plus, I have to pay more in CAD, it is sad enough paying $58.51 (including tax for my region) for a new EP. This is one reason I try to buy at least half my packs on sale.

I have been waiting a year just to buy B&H at 50% because I wasn't around for the release, and the theme wasn't my bag, just the features seem like they'd be fun. It didn't seem my playstyle enough to pay full price. Where as L&D (the pack that got me started on Sims 4), EbN, (maybe AA cause I love the butterflies/entomology so much but I ripped myself off LOL) and R&L— really added to my gameplay and playing style so much, so I paid full price, and I have had so much fun.
