10/5/2024, The Sims Mobile crashing.

The Sims Mobile has started crashing when I try to open the game.  I get as far as the welcome message and the green plumbob.  After the plumbob disappears, the opening screen lags, goes black, and then the game closes.

I'm playing on an 8th generation iPad, iOS 17.6.1.
