Hey all! The customer service rep I was just chatting with told me that the Sims Mobile devs do read these forums, so I'm bringing up an issue that has caused quite a bit of noise in the Sims Mobile community: the randomized Date Night packs.
For those who aren't aware of what I'm talking about, the recent Date Night Pack was released in three scaled packages with different contents, which were offered at random to players. A lot of us only got offered a lower tier pack when we would have loved the higher tier packs, which is super lame! Sadly, EA does not currently have the facilities available to let us upgrade to a higher tier pack, which is also lame.
My request is this: Offer all tiers to all players, and let US choose how much we want to spend! That option works great in other microtransaction-based games that I play, so it should work well in The Sims Mobile as well. Give us a choice, and I think you'll be pleasantly surprised by the results!

For those who are curious, here are the three packs:
- I'd really like it if they issued packs with the missing items we can buy. It's really disturbing to me that they'd randomly allow some users the opportunity to get some items and not allow others. There's no other way to get these items. I'm not even really sure why they chose to randomize the packs in the first place. I've played SimCity Buildit and when they offered packs they often offered the multi-option packs, because that's generally how you do this.
Please reissue these packs so we can get the items we missed. It's almost hilarious we have to beg you to let us give you our money. I think this pack offered based on how much money you has spend before this pack released.
so for someone who never bought anything using real money before probably got the cheap one.
for someone who barely buy 1 / 2 packs using real money got medium pack.
and the last, big pack for player that buying almost all the packs using real money that offered to them.
Maybe this pack are reward for them who deserve it.
- Nope, a lot of us compared notes on how much we spent. It had no correlation at all to how much we'd already spent. (And if this were supposed to be a reward pack for spenders, I definitely should have been offered it!)
Then last night, someone refreshed their user data (cleared cache and data on the application) to basically simulate a reinstall. The packs offered upon reinstall were completely random. They "re-rolled" several times until they got the big pack, along the way randomly getting offers for the small and mid sized packs in no particular order.
One hundred percent random.Ugh, that's crazy! I mean, at least there's some logic if it's scaled based on previous spends, but just random is stupid. It's like they don't even know how much money they're potentially missing out on.
- I like how the large package is the price of a game pack for pc and sells us a handful of the items we already have on pc.
Hi, I'm here to bang the pots and pans.
Whether it's to allow a player to buy a pack more affordable to them, or to buy a more expensive pack they want, or to pay to upgrade one they've already bought because of the bad choice of design putting this out, I can't fathom that this isn't a top priority to figure out, considering these are the literal players supporting this game; they deserve better than having to figure out how to pay you by having to open support tickets with you themselves and being routed around like this. Come on; please have a proper look at this. Thank you.
- So, any news on this? EA support always tells us to go to the forums, so what happens if we don't get a response?
Feels really bizarre to be nagging them to let me give them money. 🤔- I don't think there will be a response to this one.
