I have no problem with the sweet treat showdown in general, as a regular feature which we are expected to do all events from is where I'm not happy. Can't the treats be swapped out at least and be replaced with something else visually like crafts or clothing? We need variety of some sort, treats aren't something that fits with fashion and we've been doing treats for a while now and frankly its getting stale. so far I see the changes that were made to make this event easier for others and less of a grind and I'm happy for that, this game should be geared toward more casual players and not feel as if you need to dedicate lots of time into it unless you really wanted to. the last thing I want is a mini version of Freeplay which is way more expensive and time consuming than I am willing to participate in.
I was hoping for a return of the event style like ASOS, that was fun and visually pleasing. as far as getting careers through these events I'm happy to get them this way as long as there is a way for others who don't finish to have another chance at them unless they are meant to be exclusive to the event as the ASOS careers were. I tend to be a completionist  so I finished the ASOS event and got all of the items, it was enjoyable though and loved how it was cross promoted with a brand that was very accessible in real life. Moschino isn't really accessible like ASOS is so its more of a vanity brand and can understand why the items are being done in packs, but the prices are absurd being all items purchasable are over $70. Thats way too much for a casual game to charge, Jeremy Scott may be used to making big bucks but as a normal person I don't have money to afford such clothing in real life or in a virtual one. I would have easily spent $12 for the Moschino package and $2.99 for each of the weekly ones, maybe $5 if there was mens items in them.
Why not try a cross promotion with a brand influencer who's not selling couture at extravagant prices, Id take makeup packages from Jeffrey Starr as long as they were affordable.
I'm just feeling let down as I was expecting something more like the ASOS event, and if all the clothing came in at around $25 I think that would have been acceptable and more affordable to many more people. I will finish the event and see if I feel any different, but as it stands I'm really worried that the game is going to be a mini version of Freeplay when I'd rather it was more like sims social which was really awesome.

Great Post!   ITA with you about the disappointment of not having the ASOS event repeated!   I also enjoyed that event.
And I also agree that Iād rather just outright pay for clothing, jewelry, hairstyles packs ( IF they were reasonably priced) without having to do an Event I detest... maybe because I hate cooking/baking IRL š
Even if there were smaller affordable packs, Iād feel like the rewards would be more available to everyone.
Iām not opposed how people choose to spend their money, but I wish that there were better alternatives for players to get some of the desired items without going brokeāboth in and out of the game.
I feel left out as a Sims player, knowing that the new Modeling Career is only available by doing this event.
I miss the more Social aspects of the game, especially the parties.
We've been asking for more Relationships, Careers, & Hobbies even before FM took over.  Weāve also been asking for Party fixes for over a year now too.
Im afraid TSM is more about making $$$ now, than playing a fun, social & creative game.   š
