@irenesas it should be a dining table, could you try a different dining table with chairs?
When you get it fixed, could you share with us what table you used that didn't work?

As @Phantomlover1717 said, @irenesas a regular dining table should work as long as the Sim is not busy doing another event. I would probably restart my phone and see if it helps.
