Re: Cannot Host Party

Open your build mode and click on the party balloons and click birthday, see if that works.

I gave up on throwing parties because of the dumb EA rule of trashing a sim every week just to throw one..I like my Day 1 sims and the ones given to me..

If the above works, do say as I’d given up playing as I don’t want to start over, had retired a sim, opened a trait, still couldn’t throw and I’ve only two more chances/traits left

Well I wasn’t completely sure what the instructions were above, but I did go in and open up build mode then clicked on the balloons to see the party items and everything was greyed out because of course I wasn’t hosting a party. I then checked and I still couldn’t throw a party. This morning I got onto that same account, but using another device, it was time to pick another trait which I did and after that, bam I had the option to host a birthday party (my first ever party on this account). So to be honest, I don’t know what got it to work unfortunately, but now it’s good 😊

Glad it’s working for you now :-) out of interest the device you had started your account and usually played on, was it an apple device? Only I’m switching from apple back to android in september and hope it’ll work then I’m currently using an iphone 7 plus. Thanks for the feedback and happy simming!

I use mine on both.  I have party issue because apparently EA doesn’t want you to be attached to your day 1 sim so I am stuck at zero parties at level 40 so I opened a BBB complaint cause we shouldn’t need to kick a sim out weekly to have a party for our friends and it is justified by laws against app developers.  Hopefully soon we won’t need to kick sims out to throw a party. 1 sim gifted to me so never kicking her out either.

    1. That’s terrible! Is that really what they’re doing? Well then I’ll not be able to throw a party either as my daughter created the main character, she has autism that character goes nowhere she’d go ballistic! I’m really shocked they’d do that, very unfair

100% agree with you and I have brought it to an specialists attention at EA on one of my support emails because it is a shame where they are heading.

Actually no both of my devices are Android tablets that I use for this account, sorry I'm not much help but I do hope they fix this problem for everyone! ;-)
  • Thanks I am still dealing with no Apple app update for a week now yet EA said nothing they can do yet if they look like Apple did, it was revoked and needs to be resubmitted for the Canadian Store!! 🤷‍♀️🤔🤬

Well since EA hasn’t put the new update in the iTunes App Store I am still on 11.1.0 and no I refuse to retire my sims too attached to them

11.1.0 is the latest update. One of your first Sims you would have to retire so you can have that party with a new Sim.
The game is essentially designed for you to retire Sims fairly often, it's sad to let them go. I had a hard time letting go of my Simself... But it's really cool to see where my Sims grand, grand, grand, grand, grand, grand, grand kids are now.

11.1.0 is not the new update they had two updates back to back witch cause a license revocation in the Canadian Store and I have people who work in not only the main Apple corporate office but owns an Apple and it’s confirmed they were revoked here.

*snip* I refuse to retire a sim to have a party this BBB is now involved due to 1. No party 2. Never got my grill in my inventory tho I have 100% evidence and 3. Can’t play due to no update and EA is not listening to Apple or me on how to correctly fix the issue.  *snip*

EDIT by EA_Jason: Don't be rude

  • yea Sure I’ll update as soon as EA figures mistake

The latest update for Apple is 11.1.0, for Android it's 11.1.1.

Android got another update to fix and issue when you used the back button when changing a Sims appearance. Apple devices don't have a back button so Apple didn't get that update.

Back to your original problem, this is the solution for many people:
    https://answers.ea.com/t5/Bug-Reports/Cannot-Host-Party/m-p/6772800/highlight/true#M3171

I understand that you're attached to your current Sims, but The Sims Mobile, unlike The Sims 4 is designed to go through generations.

I don't have another option for you than that. So if you want to throw a party you'll have to retire a Sim. If you don't want to retire a Sim, you won't have the option for a party.

For the other problems you mention, please have a peek at the bug list:

If you don't see the issues you have on it, do make a new post as this one is about not being able to throw parties.
