I started a party before going to bed and when I logged in at 7:31 am EDT the game said my party was invalid. I did get simoleons and fashion gems when I tapped the green button so the party level was high, probably 10 due my friends list, but there's no way to know precisely.

Since this morning I've logged into the game 5+ times and twice it displayed the same error and both times it distributed coins and gems. I've noticed the same thing occurs every so often with normal parties but I've yet to check whether redundant rewards are being distributed, whether the initial reward isn't being logged, or something else is occurring.
On the last login the game confirmed that the party reached lvl 10 but claimed that I didn't participate at all.
EDIT - I tried attaching a video showing the above but I don't think they're allowed.
It happened again last night at 1:03 am EDT (Sept 6) when I tried to attend a friend's party. I can add their name if it helps.

Happened to my own party. Lvl 10 rewards were given out after the error message.
Unlike previous times when my parties have crashed the error message has NOT reappeared with each login. Nor have the rewards been disbursed more than once.
Edit: The above is no longer true. The error appeared and disbursed duplicate rewards at 5:14pm EDT. I don't know why it's only occuring now.
Edit #2: The party complete notification didn't appear until Wednesday. As before it states that I didn't participate in my own party. Screenshot attached.
I've the same problem with my parties nearly every time.
Settings are for friends only, but within a few minutes I have a lot of stranger Sims on my lot. That's the first issue.
The second is the same like the others have: every party crashes.
Mostly it's on level 10 within minutes (12 minutes was the fastest) and it doesn't take long and I receive the Error 400 message on my screen.
I don't get the reward multiple times, like others. All my earned stars don't count and if a friend tries to rejoin my party, he gets a freeze and it looks like he has never visited it before.
If a friend tries to access the first time, they get a freeze too and one of the two possible parties per day is gone.
Throwing a party or visiting others is one of the best things in that game.
I've to admit... I'm really annoyed by the Lamazoom truck or the surprising choices, where you only get a benefit, if you pay for it.
I really don't like the Lamazoom tickets or the time it takes, until I can get another lot extension or a new room.
But here's not the place to discuss this. On the other hand... I don't think, I'm gonna play this game much longer (playing since Beta).

I had my weekly party today Sunday at 2:15 p.m. UTC +2. It was an open party that reached level 10 in less than 30 minutes. I closed the game almost inmediately. I got the error 400 at 5 p.m. UTC +2 and several times since that time.
A week ago on Saturday I also got error 400. The party began at 2 p.m. UTC +2 and took almost two hours to level up to 10 and there were just few guests. I could get information from two players who were at this party.
The first one told me it was very difficult to get to the party, it was not loading on his screen. This player got his party rewards as normal on Sunday.
The second player told me the button with the option to return grayed off and only left the option to ignore the party. Eventually the party disappeared from his list and didn't get any party rewards. .

Attended a friend's party and the usual error happened:
I was attending a party at another player's house, it reached level 10, and just now with just 7 hours left for it to complete, the party crashed.
The attended today does not reset. No rewards are earned. This about the 5th time I've attended a party and got no rewards, used my cake too!
Will this be fixed soon? Hardly getting any rewards here.
I've also attached a screenshot which displays the party name as "Party Error" right before it completely disappeared from the list. (Of course it was not named that initially!!)
This same thing just happened to me twice in a row.
Attended two friends' parties a few hours ago, wanted to go back in just now, but the house only appeared for a split moment before I got the loading screen.
After restarting my game, the parties where gone from my list.
Kind of frustrated honestly.
Both parties were at level 10, but I doubt I'll be getting the rewards now. ☹️

I got Error 400 today again at my weekly party. It was an open concert party that started around 3 p.m. UTC +1 and reached level 10 in 15 minutes.
I closed the game after 30 minutes and opened it again at 5 p.m. UTC +1. Everything was normal.
Now at 8.30 p.m. UTC +1 got Error 400.
I counted 13 players in the party chat as it reached level 10. Does anyone know how many players can attend a party before it's full?

The party doesn't disappear from the list.
and the counter doesn't reset, too.
Every single party from me and my friends crashed... Mostly after 15-60 Minutes. Sometimes after 8 Minutes, sometimes after a few hours. For a long time we haven't partys which doesn't crash.
And this happened to me since - dunno - july? june? may? (I mentioned: EVERY. SINGLE. WEEK.)
