This relationship disappearing bug has been happening to me too recently. I noticed it with the Internet Icon Hobby but didn't think anything about it because Friends were retiring Sims and I attributed it to retirement. However, my Sim was at a party yesterday and she had a level 5 relationship with a Sim and while attending a party that Sim no longer recognized the relationship and in the contacts screen it only shows a level 1 relationship. Another friend  @Fuzzernutter started a friendship with one of my Sims and I reciprocated by starting one with their Sim (neither Sim is retired). Today when I went to initiate an interaction his Sim was no longer showing in my Sims Contact list...can't find him anywhere.

The other thing I've noticed is that relationships with retired Sims are not being affected with retirement. My friend has a Sim that retired. My Sim had a Level 10 romantic relationship with her Sim.  In my game her Sim looks young and if I didn't know he retired, I would have no idea by looking at him.

Something really weird is going on with our contacts and I hope it gets fixed quickly. 

@PaQuilter1 When I add too many contacts ,my contact list starts to freeze up. I don't know if EA has a limit on how many sims you can add to contact list but they might. 

Did Tyler start a friendship story in your game with my sim Van? If you chose to pick a friendship story later, it won't save the friendship. I have done that. If you picked a relationship story , your sim should be able to socialize with my sim by checking stories even if my sim is not on your contact list

I'm doing the sports story with your sim. They are at level 4 . Tyler shows up in stories and in contacts but my sim does not have a large contact list

Retired sims . If your friend retired a sim, that sim will leave your friend's game I think in 5 days. Your friend will no longer be able to socialize wit her sim and that sim will take their place in your friend's  family portrait as last gen. That same sim will stay in your game allot longer. That sim becomes an NPC in your game so you can complete any relationship story you have with that sim. 

I do agree some sims don't look retired. I have given them stickers that no one will ever get 

@Fuzzernutter Tyler and Van were Geek Friends. I have noticed they reduced.the number of contacts in the Contact list way back from when I first started playing.  But Van is no longer in my contact list for Tyler...anywhere.

@PaQuilter1 so the geek story is not even there? Are you going to VintageStarlet's party in a few hours? I have Van set up to go to the party with his sister. If you send Tyler in see what happens when he speaks to Van on your end 

This is happening to me too.  I added a couple of sims to my contact list earlier this week at a party, but they are no longer listed.  I wanted to make sure I gave them stickers today but now I can't help them out.  Is the contact list getting cleared out if you don't stay in daily contact with them?  This is very frustrating.

Thanks for the reports. Have you noticed if this happens when you add new contacts to the list or when you've not interacted with the other Sim after a while? 

And is it only with Sims from your friends or also with regular NPC that are walking through the world?

I've noticed it both ways. Sims that we meet at parties are no longer listed as contacts. The only thing I haven't checked yet is if it occurs after a party crashes. The level 5 relationship was initiated at a party that did not crash so that one is different. Also my SIM was in a Level 8 relationship with another SIM and that Sim and the relationship completely disappeared. I thought he had retired but later found out he was still active. That's when I started paying attention to the contact list.

Would it be possible for one of you guys to make a new report on this? Just so I have a filled in form with it!
