If your game had this issue, updating to yesterday's version is not going to help, that's why I'm asking you to reach one of our advisers. Sorry if my question was not clear enough: what I was asking you to let me know is if the issue started to happen for you after having already updated the game.
So please, if you have this problem, contact one of our advisers either from inside the game or through EA Help. When selecting a topic, choose: Technical support > Game progress issues. Explain to them you cannot start career events with your Sims on The Sims Mobile or link this thread to advisers so you don't need to explain yourselves again.
