Retirement

There have been so many posts on retirement, but I still haven't found the answer to my question (sorry in advance if I'm making a post on an already answered question).

I want to know - When you retire a sim, will it unlock a new playable sim/will you be able to play as their child (I have their child still living in my house) ? I really don't want to retire a sim if that means I can only play my other two sims.

To me it's pretty unsettling that we have to pay such amounts of simcash (or real cash) just to unlock a new sim.

When you retire a sim, it frees up a slot. You can then choose to promote their child (which must be an adult) to be playable or create a new adult sim. If you want to unlock additional slots, you will need simcash.

  • Yes, when you retire a sim, you will be able to promote their adult child that still lives in your house.  You will be able to promote them into the playable spot that your retired sim was using and it is free.  No simcash required if you do it this way.
