I decided to start on this only to get waylaid by the stupid stupid utterly stupid LlamaZoom. I had a single task left (A Standard Shift) one and didn't realize that it would end about 10 minutes too late or I would have gotten some energy and completed it. So, bye Emily and now I have to wait and do an entire whole new set of tasks if I want to progress. The LlamaZoom should not be part of this because it's completely random and as such there is no way to guarantee that everyone has an equally fair chance (that is, of people who have already been playing and not new players starting behind).

@Fuzzernutter Between using Extra Cupcakes for Energy or the. Stupid Stupid Utterly Stupid Surprising Choices
I Completely agree that EA has us cornered — we’re going to pay one way or another

@Fuzzernutter No, you're completely right. I also play Sims Freeplay (which is outsourced I believe) and some of the events are pretty rigged to make you use up the various currency in it or else figure out a way (like paying) to get more currency - if you value your sleep - but since playing this game, the SFP events don't seem so harsh in comparison. I've managed many of them within the time allotted without paying a dime and they get repeated fairly regularly so I don't feel AS upset if I miss out the first time around (and because there are so many, it's also a matter of never feeling like I'm missing out if I do miss out because something else will come along to participate in). (And because of this, I'm more inclined to buy stuff I really want when they pop up in the store, which is how it should work; less pressure = better customer relationship.)
@katclawsx3 At least I guess there's something to be said for bonding over an annoying game 😛 And LOL thanks! You may use it all you want (and I see you did and I'm loving it because I totally agree! The Surprising Choices are equal in their utter stupidity! This game definitely feels more and more like a "pay to play" game by the day. - 8 years ago
I had a previous reply, a little longer, but for some reason it got marked as spam and I have no clue why??? I'm newish to the forums still so maybe I inadvertently triggered something :/
@Fuzzernutter You're totally right. Considering I value my sleep and spending money on games that I don't feel pressure to spend money on (because less pressure = better customer relationship, fyi to EA), in this case I just really don't care if I end up getting a new career. After all, it's a one-off in terms of entertainment anyhow. Eventually you'll have played it 10+ times if you do unlock it (assuming you don't hate it and never ever choose it as a career again LOL).
@katclawsx3 I guess at least there's something to be said for bonding with others over a frustrating game! And LOL! You most definitely may use it. And I see that you already did and I'm loving it! I totally agree that the Surprising Choices are equal in their utter stupidity. I found them slightly interesting at first, something new to add to the gameplay, but now they're just annoying and since I'm stingy I typically have a bunch of sad/sick/cursed/etc. sims lol. Occasionally I'll do the cupcake option at the start of a new generation to give them a little XP boost to get them leveled up faster (since the hardest part of starting a new gen, for me, isn't losing sims I've gotten attached to, but losing the coins they bring in 🤫)
