Save retired sims?

I finally retired my first generation. After a few days of playing the next generation with them as elders in my house the game is asking me to move them out. I don't want them to leave yet! Is there anyway to cancel this so that I can keep interacting with them? I want to complete relationship stories with the elders.

    I'm afraid there isn't. When birthday cake icon appears over the elder, then the time's up. You cannot interact with them anymore.

    You can still see them in the family portrait for a while if they left. Unfortunately they're not permanently there as I thought it would be.
    I wish the game had an family tree like the PC games.

    They are in Previous Generation section. Mine still show up after 7 generation
    Do you change the household name?
