Who moves out after a divorce and where do they go? Will they just become a non playable SIM?

Hi @paiges3800 do you mean divorce between two of your playable Sims? If yes, none of them will move out until you decide to retire them.
@SalixCat thanks, I thought maybe they would become a townie and someone else could possibly marry them.
