I'm so sick of game franchises focusing on microtransaction mobile games. I have a $2,000 computer and a huge monitor. Why the plumb would I want to strain my eyes, kink my neck, and burn out my phone battery? Aside from playing spider solitaire when I'm stuck at an airport, I have absolutely no interest in staring at a tiny screen.
Same tho. What I hate about a lot of these games is that they fail to deliver a good core experience. Otherwise I'd probably be fine with having a few microtransactions for extra stuff here and there. But poor ports from the main game, paywalls and lack of engaging gameplay is something a lot of mobile games have in common.
One example for a "better" ( although definitely not perfect either ) mobile game is Plants vs. Zombies 2. With a bit of effort you can get through the game without ever purchasing anything from their store and you can still have a lot of fun with it. The artstyle is coherent and fun and the gameplay fits the mobile platform since it's so simple in it's execution. This game and some others are what I'd consider good or decent mobile games. And then there's the other 97% of mobile games which is pretty much a minefield of pay 2 win and microtransactions to get any content added to a bare base.
