On the left corner there is this “Seasonal Task” message that won’t go away. I deleted & downloaded the game, nope. I carried my game from tablet to phone but it is no use. I tried to retire the sim that’s in the message balloon but she couldn’t be retired. Buttons do not work! Because of that, I cannot start new challenges. And because of THAT, my event progress has stopped. I spent my entire week, I was about to collect 78/78 but stuck at 70/78 and due to this game error I will probably be missing the big prize. EA should take responsibility for this. But I know they won’t give any kinds of compensation nor extend the event time. I love the game but it also disappoints me, there is no end of its bugs.

It seems that the festival bubble not only covers the screen but the bug seriously blocks more things in the game:
- bank stats corner covered - workaround: party mode or BB mode
- STS dashboard buttons don’t launch the event activities - workaround: bring sims manually to the locations
- relationship story events at town locations don’t launch - workaround: bring sim manually to the locations (date in the cafe, restaurant, etc)
- in BB, color swatch of new item cannot be purchased right away - workaround: put the default item in inventory/place on the lot first, then unlock desired color swatch
NO POSSIBLE WORKAROUND:
- limited-time career and hobby quest steps don’t launch from trigger objects - players are running out of time for one-time opportunities to unlock such stories (eg. surgeon, internet icon, etc)
- tutorial-like gameplay quests get stuck as well, like the new-game-starter quest, wedding quest
- blocked land expansion / new lot purchase / rooms placing
- reportedly it also affects sim’s active/passive switch and retirement button not performing the desired action - high risk of loss of characters
- some passive sims disappeared from the households and become elders - lost characters for good(?)
- some players who in despair uninstalled-reinstalled the game, weren’t able to download their game progress from the cloud - high risk of loss of game progress/content
The bug affected 75% of players who answered a reddit poll so far. ☹️((
Does the studio have an ETA for the fix yet and a plan to make up for the loss of those affected?
