@JulesDarling sorry for the late reply, been hopping around time zones & a little jet lagged. Love your single red tulip, laughed at the plausibility of a squirrel conspiracy too (I don’t have squirrels in Australia so I totally get my tourist on and gush all over them when I see one overseas, my favourite are the Scottish ones because their tails are three times the size of them and I’m constantly amazed I don’t see all these toppled over squirrels due to the obvious weight disadvantage of those tails lol 😂). Alliums, like gladiolus, hate winds because they’re so top heavy, they are fantastic to grow, but if you ever try to grow them get a mix, don’t settle on what you see in photos online, because they are advertised/sold at different sizes and colours but depending on the age of the bulb and your soil they can grow differently, for me, for example, my ambassador alliums are twice the size of my globemaster alliums even though the globemasters are suppose to be the largest, so try a bunch first before you settle on one, they are amazing but stink of onions if you pick them or their leaves break, they’re just giant chives lol. Waaaah could talk forever! Love fellow gardeners 😍✌️
If EA staff read this, this is why I got upset when the new plants cost simcash, as a gardener I always pimp out gardens in these type of games so seeing a whole bunch locked behind simcash is pretty mean spirited, you could have made like one tree coin base at least 😤
So you are literally across the universe from me! My grand dad and grandmother moved to Australia not long after we moved to the States and spent the rest of their life there. He worked for Cadbury and moved a lot but I assume that Australia was something more than a move . I would like to escape the gloomy winter one day and visit Australia.
I am definitely going to rethink Alliums because I do very well with my gladiolus and over the years have found some creative ways of tending to their top heaviness! LOL I like onions so not an issue there! I think that they are in my tiny Sim garden!
No squirrels?! I love watching them! They are so busy especially when fall heads our way. I love watching them play and how they get so lazy during the summer. When I was in college I lived in this terrific townhouse and I has a little fella that came just inside my house for a snack! I was in Michigan at the time so most of the squirrels were black and some people call them flying squirrels but they really just jump very well. I now like further into the Midwest and although they are here mostly I just see the regular ole red ones.
Do you grow roses? I may give the larger ones another try but do fear my consistent failure with them. I have a gorgeous row of lavender. I wanted to grow Heather but have not gotten around to it. My dad lived in Scotland for a while growing up and he remarked on how beautiful the heather was. I bet this won’t surprise you but my daughters name is Heather! I think something stuck because she named her daughter Violet, well her middle name. I thought maybe she just ignored me and my garden but as they grow so do our ideas.
We shall continue but my other sister is coming to visit before we are all separated. I may send her back with some irises because mine could uses a thinning out. I love trading my flowers or giving them to people that are just starting. I drive through my neighborhood and see my lilies everywhere and that makes me feel wonderful!!
Peace and Love My fellow Earth Mother ♥️🌹♥️🌹♥️

@JulesDarling 😐 you triggered my jealousy trait lol 😂 *whines* I want visiting squirrels! Unfortunately I’ve always lived in areas of Australia with pretty vicious wild life, my youth (at parents place) was on a beach where great whites were always in land, you could sit on the balcony and just watch them glide up and down the shore line, giant f***ers too, I mean the big ones that the others swam away from, we also had king browns (snake) and funnel webs (spiders) in the yard... 😵and sometimes downstairs inside the house. Later when I moved around I became a spider magnet, red-headed mouse spiders, red backs, white tips etc etc, now I live with my husband in a alpine region and we have a grumpy koala that growls like a demon if you get too close to his area, however the saving grace is early, like 2-3am early if you’re lucky we do have giant gliders which are huge like pale teddy bears... but like who is up at that time?! so yep I’ve totally romanticised everyone else’s experience with their wildlife, like you and your squirrel. The ones I’ve seen have lead me to believe they have such huge personalities, I really love them.
I do grow roses but it has taken me years and I still struggle with black spot and mildew, since I’m alpine the air is heavier with moisture so they really need to be spaced out to breathe but I know they grow because the property down from me has the rose garden dreams invented, honestly she’s managed to sway train her roses so she has the perfect picturesque rose bushes then it’s framed by this fence of roses with the sways in the air 😑 I want roses like that! I was told if you can grow lavender you can grow roses, make sure you buy healthy bare rooted roses, prepare the soil a few weeks prior to buying/planting as they are ferocious feeders to begin with, don’t prune them for the first three years and plant them at the right time with space, so no plants growing near their base, they love iron so when you plant them plop in some store bought iron tablets into your watering can and give them a iron drink, do that after every prune (but not for the first 3 years, don’t know why but I was told that and it definitely made a difference) Don’t give up, like peonies they have a bad rep for being hard to grow but they’re really easy once you get to know their likes/dislikes.
I love heather, I visit Scotland a few times a year (mostly Skye) and heather is a hardy little plant that smells so sweet and lovely and grows like wild fire. Hot tip is try it first in a pot or a small section as the fragrance is polarising (some find the scent too unusual, like it tickles the nose) but if you end up loving it go for it. If you get frosts they can look dead while in the dormant stage but they always come back. They are fantastic in home made soaps (if you go nuts over the scent.)
😑😑 I don’t want to stop fangirling but got to run. ✌️💐
- 7 years agoYou are really funny @Here4Snacks ! Not at all jealous of sharks or spiders 🕷 although I never kill them because of a nursery rhyme my mum would say . The gliders sounds delightful but it’s still a no on the giant F@** ers! So not a fan girl I won’t even watch shark week! How about dingoes?! I have been scared of them so long and before I ever understood the ''ate a baby'' reference! I have heard that some dogs were even breed with them!
I think that I will try some heather and per advice I will try it in a pot and in my front yard! Charlie has such separation anxiety that she pulled down a fairly large branch of one of my redbud trees! Big sigh!! I can’t take her to the puppy playgrounds until she has her tags so it just been my sister and myself. I have put her in her kennel but only for about a half hour. Advice? Anyone?
I had the same issues with my lavender for season after season until like your tip about heather and placed it in a pot! I dry it and yes I do make soap with small sprigs of it. I may sell art but my soap I just give as gifts over the holidays. My grandad sent me a stuffed koala when I was little and it was made of kangaroo fur! I loved it then, still have it but definitely don’t want anything to give its fur for a toy! Mine didn’t growl nor do I think it was a demon! 😉
I am laughing because we definitely have different wildlife! I live in a city so the wildlife here sets off fireworks all summer and when that gets boring guns may replace the cracking sound! I do live in a nice area but it isn’t the country and it’s not the burbs! I think it is a trade off, I got a beautiful arts and crafts bungalow on almost an acre of land . I can put up with the traffic and the kids for what I have.
I have to run and feed the squirrels! Now I am kidding I need to post about the limit!
I will cross post. Okay either someone finally got through to EA or there is a glitch. I was able to pull out of my storage almost 30 items!!!! I need to expand! Hurry everyone before the gate closes! - themummyof47 years agoSeasoned AceI love squirrels... in the Netherlands we have the beautiful rusty red coloured ones, but here in England it's the grey ones...
I finally managed to write another story, as Anselma has been plaguing me for days.. but with my new Sims3, and real life, and the novel I just struggled to get one in...
I'm excited though, I can see her heading down the wrong track....

Hello, friends. I didn't realize I've been away for two weeks now. Still resting. I hope everyone is still here and doing well!
Just wanted to let you know I'm still active in-game, but I understand if you need to remove me from your friend list to make room for active forum members. I can request a re-add when I return and wait for a slot.
Also, I changed my second Sims Mobile username from "HouseofGlass" to "Mirror House," so that's me. I'm still active in that account, too, but please feel free to remove it from your friend list as well if you need to cull.
Hugs & black hearts to each and every one of you.
- themummyof47 years agoSeasoned AceHugsss!! @VintageStarlette Of course I wouldn't dream of removing you from my list...!!!

@themummyof4 Mummy, I just read "Moving Around" and it was awesome. I laughed out loud about Anselma's preoccupation with looks. Especially considering how my boy Sims look after turning into adults. Lol.
Now I can't wait to read the next chapter. What is in store for Anselma and Ralph...You always leave me in suspense. ☺😋
- themummyof47 years agoSeasoned AceThanks, @PaQuilter1, I'm looking forward to it too, lol, as I really enjoy their story...!

This is how I do it, there might be different or better ways.
1) find the thread you want to link.
2) in the address bar, select it and copy it
3) go to the question where you would like to link it.
4) click on the reply button
5) In the compose window, click on the link icon.
6) Paste the address you previously copied into the URL field.
7 optional) you can change the text or add instructions but if you aren't sure what you are doing, don't.
8) submit

@BlueWizardRob Thank you so much!! I wanted to answer someone's question, but I really needed to be able to give a link. You're so good at explaining things. Thanks for the pic too! That helped.

@BlueWizardRob Is spot on, but for anyone on a tablet or smartphone, you can copy the URL and then when you go back to the thread you want to paste the link in, compose your post and press the screen to bring up the ‘past’ option and press it. The URL will be linked automatically.

@Finealta That's the way I do it too! 😊
- 7 years ago@PaQuilter1 Hi! I have been rummaging around here trying to find the thread that helps players find partners for their sims and seems like a fruitless quest. Is it even a real thing? Thank you for any information.
